Truck Driver Responsibilities:

Tasks:

1. Address customer complaints or concerns
2. Provide professional customer service
3. Arrange travel itineraries and make reservations
4. Load and unload goods
5. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
6. Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
7. Handle payments for goods
8. Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
9. Conduct preventive maintenance
10. Receive and relay information to central dispatch
11. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption

Credentials:

Certificates, Licences, Memberships, and Courses:

• Driver's License (Class 1 or A)

Experience and Specialization:

• Documentation knowledge
• Accident or incident reports
• Driver logbook
• Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
• Maintenance and repair reports
• Trans-border documentation

• Experience with communication systems
• Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
