Forklift Operator Job Description
- Completes daily forklift safety checklist
- Hooks batteries up to battery charger.
- Assists with creating a drop list of merchandise for placement in aisles
- Communicates with floor managers to set priorities and determine merchandise placement
- Moves pallets of merchandise using the electric forklift and electric pallet
- Uses/acts as a spotter to alert forklift drivers if something is falling and to keep people out of the fall-danger zone
- Wraps pallets in plastic wrap and attaches a merchandise tag
- Stacks merchandise from partial pallets onto full pallets
- Removes empty pallets from the sales floor
- Rotates stock as necessary
- Ensures that all pallets being placed in steel meet Costco Standards
- Assists with stocking
- Clears sales floor of debris
- Checks merchandise sign accuracy
- Ensures that the steel safety inspection checklist issues are rectified
- Marks unmarked merchandise with item number
- Follows proper Merchandising and general safety procedures and standards
- Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary
- Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers.
