Job Description

The primary purpose of the position is to maximize sales opportunities achieving dealer objectives through excellent customer service. Reporting to the Service Manager the ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of experience dealing with customers within the motor industry.

Specific Role Responsibilities

• Collect all vehicles from other branches, customers, outside suppliers
• Deliver vehicles to outside suppliers, other branches, customers, and any other destination required.
• Report all accidents and traffic offenses to the Sales/ Service Manager immediately
• Take vehicles to roadworthy
• Assist customers when in a workshop or on the showroom floor
• Help customers to find vehicles when collecting vehicles
• Move vehicles in and out of workshops and park.
• Transport customers who brought their vehicles for Service.
• Movement of vehicles in the workshop.

Qualifications and Experience

• Must have excellent verbal communication skills
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Customer orientation
• Team orientation
• A minimum of Grade 12

We are currently seeking to employ a Truck Operator OC to join our Platinum family. This is a key role within the Mining team where you will be responsible to: 

Attend the pre-shift line-up and complete daily pre-check inspection

Report any defects observed to Dispatch Controller

Refuel truck, top-up oil, and tire pressures as required

Log onto the truck before operation activities commence

Receive assignments via computer panel and follows instructions

Maintain proper following distances and monitor condition of roads

Communicates with other operators & supervisors via radio system to co-ordinate activities

Utilizes graphic console to obtain current assignments

Ensures trucks are operated according to safety and health specifications

Identify and appoint spotter as and when required

Open two-way communications with team members and supervisor

Provide support to team members in job execution

Complete equipment/shift change checklists and distribute data correctly

This role in the Mining Department at a B3 Level, reporting to the Production Foreman

Qualifications:

Grade 12 or equivalent

Haul truck certificate (Rigid dump truck/haul truck)

Valid driving license code 08 or 14

Experience:

One-year Truck Operator operation experience
